There is a huge range of courses available at over 300 universities and colleges across the country. The length of the course can vary from two to five years and can be done full-time or part-time alongside a job. Each course has a mix of theory and practical learning. You can choose to study close to home or move away. You can also study from home through distance learning.

To get on to most Higher Education courses, you will need level 3 qualifications, such as A-levels or an Advanced Diploma. The exact entry requirements will vary depending on the course you want to do and where you want to study. You will have to pay tuition fees and will need money for accommodation, food and transport. You may be able to get help to pay for these things through Student Finance.

Higher Education may be suitable for you if you want to get advanced level skills in a particular subject. For more information is avaiable from UCAS.
